    Version 1.11 March 2017                                             Previous Version

    Note: This is still a part time activity, so progress is slow.

    Status as at March 2017

      Updated online pages after a review;

      Working on new Chapter introductions;

      Done draft automatic translation to French;

      Revised automatic translation to exclude using MS-Macros;

      Revising book production software to exclude using MS-Macros;

      Still developing Chapter contents for Parts 1, 2 and 3 (Philosophy, Science and History).

    OUTSTANDING WORK

    ·       Obtain feedback on top level structure: ‘diamond’ and ‘gold’ conclusions.

    ·       Review ‘silver’ level expansions and justifications of ‘gold’ conclusions.

    ·       Develop ‘bronze’ level justifications for ‘silver’ statements.

    ·       Look at translating these pages into other languages – as indicated on the home page.

    ·       Set up an on-line payment system – eg a Paypal account.

    ·       Finalise setting up Reasonable Way Foundation and local Branch Association.

    This was the updated status as at August 2015

      Produced draft hard copy book of the site for review;

      Editing existing pages in response to feedback from reviewers;

      Correcting broken links on web site;

      Developing Chapter contents for Parts 1 and 2 (Philosophy and Science).

    This was the updated status as at December 2014

      Added overviews of each Part and each Chapter;

      Withdrawn old chapter pages to be reworked;

      Added tree menu on left side of page.

      Added details to Part 1 (introduction) and Part 8 (Vision of a Reasonable Global Way).  These are now “complete” drafts for comment.

    This was the status update as at October 2013.

    ·       Revised the top level statements to be the 8 conclusions for each “knowledge domain”: Philosophy, Science, History, Art & Media, Personal Practice, Politics & Vision.  more

    ·       Raised education to be one of the ‘gold’ level conclusions.  more

    ·       Reorganised introduction and conclusion sections (Parts 0 and 8).

    ·       Refined various summaries.

    ·       Allowed online access to earlier versions of each substantial page.

    ·       Added facilities to enter comments.

    PREVIOUS UPDATES

    As at April 2012.

    ·       Revised the top level summaries for each of the 7 main parts: Philosophy, Science, History, Art & Media, Personal Practice and Politics (click here).

    ·       Drafted 42 long sentences summarising these global beliefs.

    ·       And drafted an ‘introduction’ for each, in separate web pages,

    These long “summaries” still seem too long to grasp in one go, so:

    ·       Drafted 42 short sentences summarising these global beliefs

    ·       Drafted 42 haiku summarising these global beliefs (click here).

    Finally, for the major ongoing task:

    ·       Started working on the next level down, in philosophy, science and history.

    As at April 2011.

    ·       More typographical (spelling etc) errors have been fixed.

    ·       More reworking of the Quintessential Corrigible Professions of Global Beliefs covering how our choices reflect our values, and other refinements.

    ·       The 42 key sets of propositions have been re-organised.

    As at March 2010:

    ·       Some typographical (spelling etc) errors have been fixed.

    ·       The Quintessential Corrigible Professions of Global Beliefs has been updated to include a shorter summary.

    ·       The 42 key sets of propositions have been developed further, for the Parts related Philosophy and Science.  I’m still working on the rest.

    As at April 2009, this whole site was still new:

    ·       The home page has been further refined to be briefer;

    ·       I’ve removed some of the junk in the introductory sections.

    ·       The top level page is now a table of contents or site map;

    ·       I’ve separated out art and literature into their own Part.

    ·       The Tenets of a Reasonable Way are now also called Quintessential Corrigible Professions of Global Beliefs.  The page is a summary of the choices we can make for our personal life in social and political areas.

    ·       Removed some bugs in the simple database to contain a membership list to assess the level of interest in these proposed global beliefs. (Join.)

    We need help (obviously).

    1.    We need constructive feedback from readers, whether positive or negative.  Use the comments section on each web page.

    2.    We need help with writing, especially Parts 2, 3, 4 and 5, especially from non-Anglos, on

    ●  the science of our origins and human nature,

    ●  long term global history,

    ●  identifying the good and bad of indigenous religions, the major traditional world religions, and modern responses to religion, and

    ●  a world-wide perspective on art and culture and the media.

    3.    We need help to translate into other languages.  We can do a first draft translation using eg Google Translate, but that needs to be checked and refined.

    4.    We need administrative help to establish and run local branches of a Reasonable Global Way: eg Reasonable Way Melbourne, or Reasonable Way New York!

    5.    We need technical help, to maintain and enhance the web site, for marketing and promotion, for legal matters, and to develop educational resources.

    6.    We need funding, to provide an ongoing revenue stream to maintain the organisation and its assets, and support the activities noted above.

    If you can help, click on Help Us for more info, or click on Feedback (in main menu) to send email.

    We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of Country, throughout all colonised lands, and their connections to land, waters and community. We pay respect by giving voice to truth, values and social justice, acknowledging our shared history, and valuing the cultures of first nations peoples.
