2.3 How the World Began: GeologyVersion 1.3 August 2015                                             (Previous Version) These are the questions we ask in the introduction (Section 0.1.6 – paragraph 9): If god did not make them, where did the sun, the moon and the earth come from? How come we have day and night, tides, months, seasons, years, continents and seas, wind and rain, drought and dust? We may refine these as we develop this Chapter. This chapter covers how the solar system was made and how the earth formed (geology), in just enough detail so that we can work out what to believe and why, so that we can decide what to do, in our day to day life, and in the big decisions of life. We plan to look at how we know what we know under the following topic headings. For now, we have indicated below the questions we intend to address and the main topics we intend to cover.
This is the current summary of our conclusions in this area: Our Sun and its planets – including Earth – and the Moon developed from clouds of gas and dust left over after other stars exploded, and now we can explain night and day, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, mountains, the air, winds, rain, rivers, oceans, continents, tides, seasons, weather and different climates.  more (later)                                                             Statement 9 The detailed sections explain how we justify these conclusions.
